Los Mejores Bufets de Guadalajara

Food is an essential part of any visit to Guadalajara. In earlier articles we shared our picks for the best restaurants in the city, along with the top traditional dishes and the best places for breakfast in Guadalajara. This time we look at a format that always appeals: buffets, where you can try a variety of dishes for a fixed price. In this first article we focus only on restaurants that offer a buffet at lunchtime. Here is our selection of the best buffets in Guadalajara. Enjoy!

Sirloin Stockade

Sirloin Stockade is a paradise for big eaters. Its wide selection includes a salad bar, soups and pizza, plus dishes such as roast beef, turkey, lasagna, wings, BBQ ribs, sushi and more. If you never skip dessert, there is a bar with ice cream, crepes, cookies, arroz con leche (rice pudding), flan, cinnamon rolls and other treats.

At one time, Sirloin Stockade was the favorite buffet of locals (tapatíos). It is still a good option today, although it has lost some popularity as newer places have opened. Even so, it has earned its place among the best buffets in Guadalajara. If you are visiting and there is no Sirloin Stockade where you live, it is definitely worth a try. Check its social media for promotions: in certain seasons it offers a 2-for-1 buffet after 6:00 p.m.

Mr. Pampas

This is another buffet that has locations in other Mexican cities as well as Guadalajara, but that does not make it any less deserving of a spot among the best buffets in Guadalajara. If you have never been, it is a churrascaria or rodízio, a style of buffet typical of Portugal and Brazil. Diners help themselves at bars with appetizers, sides and desserts, while servers bring the meats to the table on the same skewers they were cooked on. The cuts include classic picanha, arrachera (skirt steak), churrasco, short ribs, filet mignon and even tomahawk.

There are several churrascarias in the city, but Mr. Pampas is clearly the local favorite. It is not the cheapest, but customers feel they get good value for their money.
